BC Open Textbook Summit 2017 has ended

BCcampus is pleased to, once again, host the Open Textbook Summit. This year’s event will take place May 24-25 at SFU Harbour Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada).

The Open Textbook Summit brings together leaders in the Open Textbook field, from faculty who are reviewing, adopting and developing Open Textbooks, to student advocates, librarians, institutional administrators, government officials, and policy staff. Together, we look at what other institutions are doing to move the Open Textbook agenda forward, share experiences about what has worked well and what could be improved, and look ahead to explore how open pedagogy can influence Open Textbook development to enhance teaching and learning.

Krysta is the Open Education Program Lead at the University of Alberta, Canada. Her journey as an open education practitioner and facilitator began in 2014 when she was selected by the Campus Alberta OER Initiative steering committee to manage a 3-year $2M provincial initiative funded by the Alberta Ministry of Advanced Education.

With over ten years experience managing projects in the public sector, her background in leading change initiatives in the post secondary system and leadership development coaching allows her to tackle social change efforts through the lens of both systems and individuals. 

She now works at the University of Alberta Centre for Teaching and Learning on faculty development initiatives related to the open education movement and teaches project management part-time.
